With the beginning of a new “colder” season ( hopefully soon) comes knee highs/ thigh high boots .These babies are made for transitioning weather-ideally summer to fall when the weather is warm enough for a short dress or a mini but cold enough to need some leg coverage. It also is an amazing way to change up your look without have to spend a ton of money.
Knee Highs immediately remind me of Cher Horowitz, they are a classic accessory. We have Mona May the Clueless Costume Designer, to thank for taking them from geek to chic. Don’t worry, I did a little research for ideas to inspire you on how to reinvent this look in a cool and effortless way. I personally love the over the knee styles with a pair of platforms and a short baby doll dress. Not only does it make it look like you have super long stems ( yay) but it’s also a little more of a grungy approach to the trend.
On the other hand, thigh high boots are also high on my fall must-have list. Although they have sometimes gotten a lil of a trampy rep ( thanks Pretty Woman), I think when worn the right way they are totally hot. The trick is not to wear patent leather ones..ever and to pair them with super chic pieces so they look more Victoria Beckham then Vivian Ward.
