These body jewelry styles present a new twist on the classic necklaces, rings and bracelets we all have been rocking for years. This is an exciting trend to me because although I am not a HUGE jewelry person I am all about rocking statement pieces. The trick with body jewelry is to let it be the focus of your outfit especially with the harness pieces.Have fun wearing these new unique pieces and maybe even try to create your own pieces of jewelry with the DIY’s below!

The Day Thee Grace Coddington,Vogue’s Fashion Editor Mentioned Filthy Gorgeous Fashion..
26 Mar
It all started last week..the week of March 19th to be exact.I was reading my April 2012 issue of Vogue(the one with JLo on the cover) and came across “Checking In”,an editorial shot my Tim Walker with Kate Moss as the model and the legend Grace Coddington as the Fashion Editor(if you don’t know who Grace Coddington is then you must discover now).It is no surprise that Grace is basically the person I look up to most in the fashion industry. Her talent is unlike any others and she truly has an amazing life story ( look out for her memoir coming out in October).I actually researched her in my Fashion Styling class at FIDM and this is when I really fell in love with her work and her talent as an artist. After seeing that editorial,I felt really inspired and motivated, (I posted about this below) so much so that I decided to “facebook message” Grace.I did it with the intent being that I just wanted to her to know what a fan of her work I was and how she truly inspires me.I really was not expecting a response,I mean she is thee Fashion Editor for Vogue. Then this past Saturday just before I was about to watch “Martha Macy May Marlene” starring Elizabeth Olsen (definitely recommend it), I decided to refresh the Fbook and to my utter surprise the first post was by Grace Coddington with the following comment “Check out this fabulous fan blog. Keep up the good work Kolbie Richardson” I do not exaggerate you when I say I started screaming. My boyfriend was wondering what the hell was going on and then when I told him I started crying. It was just a simple status on Facebook, but to me it was a life changer. To know that she actually read my message and most likely visited this blog is unbelievable to me.It really was an amazing moment I will remember and cherish forever. To everyone who reads Filthy or whoever has read anything on my blog, thank you.You really don’t know how much it means to me and what joy it gives me to have this as a creative outlet for me.
Thank you Grace & My Filthy Gorgeous Readers,

Fear is the Thief of Dreams
22 MarThe beauty of fashion is it is always changing yet somehow it is always the same.I am enamored with how others interpret fashion in their own way whether it’s through their fashion, their creative eye or their artwork.I love that I can see an editorial that can literally give me goosebumps and surge an electric shock of inspiration through me.When I can feel so inspired that I can make or do anything I can dream of.These moments I treasure and when they happen they can absolutely transform my day.I am at a place in life where I know fashion is what I want to do but it is sometimes hard to keep that fire of inspiration and determination lit when some days are so filled with doubt.
I just came across an editorial in Vogue’s April 2012 issue that just did that, the electric shock of inspiration, the goosebumps, the absolute need to create something or do something that moment. It is moments like these that keep my passions alive. This editorial is photographed by the iconic Tim Walker, with Grace Coddington as the Fashion Editor( my personal favorite stylist) and the always amazing Kate Moss as the model. The name of the editorial is called “Checking Out” the story behind it,because every great editorial has one is as follows”Fashionable guests recall the glory and glamour of the storied Ritz Paris, which, before closing its doors for renovation, hosts Kate Moss in haute couture one last time.”
Thank you Tim,Anna,Grace,Kate and Vogue.
Enjoy and be inspired today.

The Olsen’s Do Elle’s UK Magazine April 2012
7 MarHello my name is Kolbie and I am obsessed with the Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. This obsession is no surprise if you follow my blog or my Pinterest where I have dedicated a board to the Olsen’s because they deserve an entire board on my Pinterest.I grew up with the Olsen’s like most girls my age and these ladies literally to me, are the only people who can pull off anything in the fashion world. They’ve set trends that really hadn’t been rocked before and are designers for not one but TWO companies,Elizabeth and James and The Row.I respect their hard work in the industry, their ability to be constant style inspirations to me since age 5,and also would like to thank them for making such movies as “Island in the Sun”,”Double Double Toil and Trouble”,” In a New York Minute” and “To Grandmother’s House We Go”.Now it is time to drool over their Elle Editorial.
Enjoy,
Filthy Gorgeous Fashion
Ps.I will someday master their perfectly messy wavy hair.

Gotta Have It:Fur Accents
1 Mar
Fur is blowing up this year and no you don’t have to piss of PETA and wear real fur.Fur accents are going to be huge this year from jackets to vests.I like to think of it as the new leather jacket so looks like it is time for me to find a staple fur jacket and give my leather a break.Look for simple colors that are sure to dress up or if you like dress down your outfit.I think faux fur scares some people because you automatically feel “too dressed up” when you put it on BUT take a note from the Olsens who love to pair their real fur(:/) with jeans and converse or even tights or leather pants.I am super obsessed with fur vest which def made a comeback from the 2005 era when Nicole and Lindsay were some skinny bones rockin them around.I recommend black and beige colors they will go with everything! For a Spring touch, mix them with your lace or crochet dresses and some wedges or a long flowy maxi dress. Here is some inspiration on how to wear fur everyday instead of just an evening date or a night out with the girls.

Spring into these Trends!
26 FebI have been waiting to do a post on my trip to Vegas and my experience at Pool Trade Show but some pictures(made me so excited) I have been waiting for aren’t up yet.But after being at the trade show I have so many trends I spotted that are going to be super hot in Spring that I wanted to share with my filthy readers.I have been compiling little trends here and there that I notice and I can’t wait to share them so you guys can be on top of them too!
Mullet Skirts

Bringin back the mullets..skirts!Yesssss Maxis will still be around for Spring, which makes me way to happy.Maxis are just the perfect piece of clothing to take your outfit to the next level.I found a mullet maxi skirt at Buffalo Exchange for 12 bucks! I just about died of excitement.I wore it to the Tradeshow when I was working and literally saw at least 10 people that day with the same kind of skirt on.The great thing about the mullet skirt is that you are able to flash a little bit of leg which is super hot. Be on the lookout for some!

I am lovin K Cav’s Mullet Skirt in floral print.

Nail Art
Nail art has been blowin up lately if you haven’t noticed and I have been so obsessed with all the ideas I’ve seen on Pinterest on different ones to try.Nail art is perfect to try when you are bored and want to spruce up your look.I definitely recommend going on Pinterest and searching for some to try ( don’t forget to follow my boards:http://pinterest.com/misskolbie/.Glitter is huge right now for nails so try out a gold and silver and just painting tips on your nails or outlining your nails in glitter is a great way to start of your nail art obsession.
Gold outlines nails..I tried this and it was pretty easy.Use a very skinny brush to paint the glitter around your nail and then paint a light pink in the middle.

Socks & Wedges

I know you are thinking “What the hell that is so a faux pas”! But actually this trend I see slowly growing and if rocked correctly is actually pretty cute.First off, if you are little on the fence about trying this,I suggest maybe pairing this look with a Mullet skirt or something that just will show a hint of the sock.Once you get comfortable pair it with skirts and shorts but keep in mind that your ensemble can not clash because of the socks. If you get a little ballsy with this maybe try printed socks or even knee highs.I’ve also seen people wear tights and socks over the tights (same color I would start off with) and then wearing the wedges or platforms.Speaking of wedges, floral ones are going to be huge this Spring so be on the look out for some.

Emma Roberts is rockin those knee highs..NEED those leopard wedges now!

Leather

This really isn’t a new trend but it is definitely here to stay.Leather be it pants, skirts, shorts, jackets,or dresses are still totally needed this Spring.I confess, I just bought a pair of leather shorts at H&M for 25 bucks! I looked for so long for a pair and finally snatched them at a good price.Just be aware of the really cheap looking leather and avoid ( it usually is shiny).Something about leather just takes your outfit beyond into the next level of chic.So collect away anything leather you can get your paws on!

I am not a huge Whitney fan,but she def rocked these leather shorts in the right way! I love leather shorts paired with light sweaters and knits!

Rachel I love you! You can do no wrong..leather paired with a knitted top is so perfs for Spring!
Ashley Olsen rocking a leather skirt!

The Olsens love leather!
Kimonos
Thanks to Miss Nicole Richie, kimonos are becoming such a chic item to own.Kimono jackets or dresses again just bring your outfit to another level and make you look so boho chic.I wish I could afford the Winter Kates ones ( got one on sale at Hautelook) and if you can I think hers are the best. I’ve seen but definitely good ol H&M and Forever ( got one there too) have them.I love wearing a maxi dress under them or even paired with shorts is one of my fave looks ( love the contrast of the long jacket and the short shorts).

Mary-Kate’s Kimono Dresses

My favorite icons wearing their Kimono Jackets.

Nicole’s Winter Kate Kimonos..I own the one she is wearing:)
Floppy Hats & Vintage Swimwear

Floppy hats are just so glamorous..put one of those babies on and you’ll feel like a movie star.Another glamorous trend is vintage swimwear. It is going to be huge this spring and summer. The only thing I am a little worried about is having a soccer mom ass in the vintage swimwear but I am sure I can find a way around that.Pairing your vintage swimwear with a floppy hat,cat eye sunglasses and wedges will surely make some heads turn.Makes me excited just thinking of it! I found some pretty reasonable vintage bathing suits on ModCloth and I will be on the look out for you guys for some good ones for a good deal.

Anthropologie vintage inspired swimwear.
Crochet

Crochet shoes, dresses, shorts, wedges, tops all perfect for the hot months to come.I just found a perfect crochet dress at H&M for 30 bucks, can’t wait to wear it in some outfit photos for you guys.Crochet just gives off the feeling of laid back and chic.Like floral,I feel like crochet will always be acceptable in Spring.

I am not a Kardashian fan,but I love Kourtney’s crochet dress and cat eye sunglasses.

Kate is wearing a crochet dress with ankle boots, ankle boots are huge this spring as well!
Linday Lohan in a crochet maxi dress.

Another year older..
9 FebYesterday it was my 24th birthday. How the hell am I already 24? Feels like I just turned 21,time does fly by the older you get.I had such a beautiful day and was blown away by all the birthday love and wishes I received.I am truly blessed with amazing family and friends.I have so many goals I really want to accomplish by the time I am 25 so we shall see if I get to cross anything off the list by this time next year.

The Edelmans Have Arrived!
7 FebI have been lustin for the Adena by Sam Edelman shoe for quite some time and after obsessively searching on Ebay I came across an actual good deal.I ended up getting them for 90 bucks(shipping added)verses the 150 they usually cost. I am telling you guys if there is anything you have been dying to have but can’t afford it usually ( like me) look on Ebay.I have had such good experiences finding things I wanted and could never buy for a good price and in good condition.A couple suggestions on how to buy,I recommend looking at the buyer’s scores before bidding on their item and also waiting to bid on something you want till the last minute of it being available. That way you have more control over the bidding process and can probably snake it from everyone else at the last second.
Lately, I have been obsessed with studding! It is amazing how you can transform something plain into having so much detail and attitude. If you want to buy studs I recommend studsandspikes.com.Also a great fellow blogger for studding inspiration is http://www.studs-and-pearls.com/.She really got me motivated to stud everything in site. From jackets,to headbands to shoes..you can stud it all! Share with me on Filthy’s Facebook Page your studding creations!
