I’m Loving: Chunky Sweaters & Platforms

Chunky Sweaters/Dresses

I am currently obsessed with Chunky Sweaters/Dresses. I love them paired with cigarette pants,leggings and tights. Flats and wedges are also a perfect shoe to wear with this look. It’s a great casual look and it brings about a 60′s kind of feel. They are also perfect for the  times when you don’t want to wear something form fitting. The trick with chunky sweaters is to balance them with something tight on the legs don’t wear baggy pants or those harlem pants no no. You can also try the look with a floor length skirt another trend I am really obsessed with for Spring. Here’s some inspiration:

This is perfection. Chunky sweater paired with slim pants, leopard flats and a fedora=too perfect.

Nicole is rockin a chunky dress paired with tighs and ankle boots its super chic and a great balance.

Obsessed with these wedges paired with this off the shoulder chunky sweater.

I am still looking for a great pair of leather shorts that will actually look cute on me..don’t know if that can happen. But for those of you who can rock them, pairing them with tights and a sweater like Alexa is a great option.

Platforms

It’s probably been 10 years since platforms were total must have. Think Spice Girls and Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion.” You try driving in platforms” ( yes I had to throw some Cluless in there). I love platforms because I can actually walk in them and they make me taller. Platforms are going to be very trendy this Spring. As always pair them with long dresses and short shorts and you can’t go wrong. I am so excited to find some modern platforms. Derek Lam Platforms reinvents the 90′s platform.

This Balenciaga platform goes a different direction with the plaform. Instead of a long flat surface, the heel and the front of the shoe are equal to the ground which makes them easy to walk in like flat platforms but without the typical platform look.

Sonia Rykiel brings more detail to the typical platform with the addition of the open toe and the ankle strap,they scream Spring.
